Wally Hase (DE)
Head of Jury
International soloist, professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna

Even before completing her studies with Prof. Jean-Claude Gérard and Prof. Aurèle Nicolet, Wally Hase became principal flutist of the Staatskapelle Weimar at the age of 22, a position she held until 2009. In 2000, Wally Hase was appointed full professor of flute at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, and from 2014 - 2018 she also held a visiting professorship at the University of Music Krakow. Since October 2018, Wally Hase has been Univ. Professor of Flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She continues her orchestral activities as a solo flutist with the Camerata Salzburg, the Cappella Andrea Barca, conducted by Sir András Schiff, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the SWR and WDR Symphony Orchestras, among others. Wally Hase has a rich concert life with recitals, solo concerts as well as chamber music and gives master classes in Europe, Australia, Asia and South America. Numerous recordings with various radio stations, CD recordings with solo and chamber music and an international jury activity complete the picture of her musical activities. Wally Hase is Haynes Artist and plays on a silver flute by Wm.S.Haynes/Boston.

Michel Moragues (FR)

Flutist with the Orchester National de France and professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique Paris

Michel Moragues, flutist and educator, has been the second flute soloist with the Orchestre National de France since 1989 and is a Professor of Chamber Music at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris. He won first prizes for flute and chamber music at the Conservatoire at the age of 16. Moragues has taught globally, including at the Conservatoire Regional de Paris, and is internationally recognized as a chamber musician. He founded the Quintette Moragues and collaborated with renowned artists and conductors. Moragues' discography includes award-winning recordings. He directed festivals such as "Music in Grésivaudan" from 1993 to 2003 and currently leads the Summer Chamber Music Festival in Gourdon (Lot) with the Moragues Quintet.

Ulla Millmann (DNK)

Principal flutist of the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Koopenhagen

Born in Denmark in 1972, flutist Ulla Miilmann earned her Bachelor of Music in 1992 from the North Carolina School of the Arts, representing Denmark at the European Broadcasting Union's "Concerts for Young Soloist." Winning prestigious competitions, including Chicago's "Flute-Talk," she also received a Gold Medal at the Danish All-Music Competition.

Since 1994, Miilmann has been the principal flutist of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra/DR. She has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras in Copenhagen and on tours in Taiwan, collaborating as a chamber musician with renowned ensembles and soloists. Her recording of Ole Schmidt's "Concerto for Flute and Orchestra" earned her a Grammy nomination in 2006. As a Haynes Artist, she plays a handcrafted 19.5-carat gold flute and a Yamaha wooden flute for Baroque performances. Ulla Miilmann is sponsored by Haynes Flutes.

Petri Alanko (FIN)

Professor at the Sibelius Academy Helsinki

Flutist Petri Alanko studied at the Sibelius Academy and the Freiburg University of Music. He won the first prize at the Kobe International Flute Competition in 1989 and the Munich ARD Competition in 1990. Alanko served as the principal flutist in the Zurich Opera Orchestra and, from 1988 to 2012, with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 2012, he has been teaching flute at the Sibelius Academy and led the wind department from 2013 to 2018. Alanko has released several solo CDs featuring works by Nielsen, Ibert, Jolivet, and Finnish composers. He premiered contemporary pieces, directed the Crusell Music Festival in Uusikaupunki from 2000 to 2005, and served as a jury member in international flute competitions.

Egor Egorkin (RUS)

Solo piccolo of the Berlin Philharmonic

Flutist Egor Egorkin owes his career to a childhood illness and his parents' desire to strengthen his lungs through playing the flute. Born in St. Petersburg, he began flute lessons at the age of six. Completing his studies at the State Conservatory of St. Petersburg under Olga Chernjadjewa in 2010, he furthered his education with postgraduate studies in Weimar. As the second prize winner of the International Theobald-Böhm Competition in 2011, he gained orchestral experience, including with the Berlin Philharmonic. Beyond his musical passion, Egorkin composes electronic music in his leisure time.
